  20.     Since the start of our Beta program we have several users 
  21. successfully
  22. using ObjectFile to develop applications. Initial results are excellent.
  23. Users are particularly pleased with our simple programming interface, 
  24. and
  25. its ability to work with any existing tools.
  26.     There have been NO bugs reported so far. A few minor additions 
  27. have
  28. been suggested, and these have been incorparted into the latest Beta 
  29. release.

  35. What is ObjectFile ?
  36. ====================

  38.         ObjectFile is completely new. It is a small, fast and reliable
  39. engine, that is used to provide object persistence to any application 
  40. program, that must store its objects on file.
  41.  
  42.         ObjectFile is unique in that it is designed specifically with 
  43. application developers in mind. It was born after the realization that
  44. any available OODBMS was just too weighed down by database features,
  45. to be efficient in most application programs. ObjectFile was written
  46. during the development of a Computer Aided Design program.

  48.         ObjectFile has all the essential features needed for development
  49. of industrial strength applications. These include BLOB's, incremental 
  50. save, and the ability to store more data than physical memory.

  52.         ObjectFile is methodologically clean. It is written in C++ for 
  53. use
  54. with C++. It provides type safety and allows the maintainence of object 
  55. invariants. It uses no pre-compiler or special operating system 
  56. features.

  58.         ObjectFile is portable. Its file format is portable across
  59. processors.

  61.         ObjectFile is not a full featured Database Management System. It
  62. does not support concurrent access or client/server operation, does not 
  63. have multiple indexes, nor will it handle gigabytes of data. It is 
  64. designed for application developers, and not database developers. This 
  65. allows it to speed up your development and not slow it down.

  67.         ObjectFile is sold on a per developer basis. There are
  68. absolutely no run-time royalties.

  70. The Beta Program

  73.         After undergoing extensive in-house testing ObjectFile is
  74. commencing a Beta testing program. Developers will be supplied with 
  75. ObjectFile free of charge for the Beta period.
  76. They will get full support via E-mail for the Beta period, also free of
  77. charge.
